Boost your English in 9 weeks to meet Western University standards and start your degree with confidence.
The English Boost Program provides intensive support in academic skills and English language development, efficiently preparing you to meet Western’s language standards and succeed in university studies.
Boost is designed for students with conditional admission to Western University or King's, and Huron University Colleges, and gives them the “boost” they need to succeed in their degree.

Admissions
How do I apply to the English Boost Program?
If you have applied to undergraduate studies directly (through OUAC), you are automatically considered for the English Boost Program if you are deemed to be academically admissible as determined by the Admissions Office. No additional application is required.

For whom is the program designed?
The English Boost Program is designed for students who already have conditional admission to programs offered at Western University or King's, Brescia and Huron University Colleges.
Tuition
How much does it cost to study in the English Boost Program?
Tuition for the English Boost Program is $6,990* (Canadian dollars), plus ancillary fees.
Space is limited, and to secure a place in the program, tuition must be paid and received in full. Payment instructions will be sent by a member of the WELC team after an offer is extended.

Housing
What are my housing options – university residences, off-campus housing, homestay?
Students can choose to stay in one of our on-campus residences, or make their own housing arrangements off campus. Students often choose to stay in residence in their first year and then go on to off-campus housing. The WELC office can help with arrangements for on-campus housing. How do I apply to stay in residence during the Boost program?
You can apply to stay in residence from June 27 (or earlier) to August 29, 2026. Log in to the myHousing Portal to book ‘Summer Accommodations’. You will only be able to book on the website up to August 22, so be sure to follow the instructions outlined in the PDF below when submitting your reservation to let us know that you are part of the Boost program and we will update your check-out date to August 29.
